In rainy, 70 degree weather, Kathy Bair (55 years old) of Allen, Michigan
was the winner of the 34th Annual Hillsdale Labor Day 5,000 meter road race
held at Hillsdales scenic Sandy Beach was the winner of the
34th Annual Hillsdale Labor Day 5,000 meter road race
Bairs win established once again the uniqueness of the race in which each
participant is given a head start based on gender and age.
The oldest runner this year was Joan Gary (73) of Fremont, Indiana.
The youngest runner was 10 year old Madde Horn of Reading.
The fastest overall male time was run by Sebastian Reisch of Hillsdale (16:36)
and the fastest overall female time was run by Hillary Kast, also of Hillsdale (19:15).
Awards were presented to the top 25 finishers thanks to the generosity of
Hillsdale area businesses.All additional proceeds benefit the
student-athletes of the Hillsdale High School Cross Country teams.
